Is MG 3 coming to Pakistan?

Soon after, he uploaded another tweet stating that the price tag of the new MG 3 is less than 2 million.

This is not the first time Afridi took to his social media to drop teasers about MG vehicles. He has previously tweeted about many other MG cars, including the MG 6 Sedan, the MG RX8 SUV, and the MG Gloster. However, this is the first time that Afridi has brought an affordable MG hatchback into the limelight.

Details about the MG 3 Hatchback

The MG 3 is the smallest car in the MG Motors lineup. The vehicle can be best described as a 1500cc subcompact hatchback. The car flaunts a 1.5-liter engine and comes with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Some of the sharp looking car’s premium features are as follows:

  • Cruise Control
  • 8” touchscreen infotainment screen
  • Rear Parking Sensors
  • Six Airbags
  • Emergency Braking Assistance
  • Hill Hold Control
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TYPS)

Here are some pictures of the vehicle:

The MG 3’s 2nd generation is available for sale in the international market. In the Chinese market, the vehicle costs between Rs. 1.74 million and Rs. 1.91 million.

According to sources, MG Pakistan’s strategy is to flood the local market with thousands of Completely Built-Up (CBUs). The company aims to capture local consumers’ hearts with imported CBU units until the production of cars begins in Pakistan.

Alongside increasing the market share, the new entrant is looking to expand its product portfolio by launching a vehicle in each Pakistani auto market segment. This explains why from hatchback to sedan to SUV, Afridi has given Pakistanis a sneak-peek into multiple MG superstars.

According to reports, an MG official said:

We are going to spoil car consmers in Pakistan with options.

Experts believe that if MG Motors launches the MG 3 in Pakistan, consumers will enjoy another affordable hatchback option other than Suzuki Cultus and Kia Picanto. Now only time will tell whether the MG 3 comes to Pakistan or not.
