Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan responded to the French President’s anti-Islamic remarks. According to Turkish media reports, speaking at a ceremony in Ankara, the Turkish president slammed the French president and politicians for their anti-Islamic rhetoric.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that “French President Emmanuel Macron is overstepping his bounds by speaking out against Islam. His statement is more provocative than insulting.”
Tayyip Erdogan added that “European politicians are insulting Islam to cover up their failures. They should refrain from this move.” The Turkish president asked the French president, “Who are you to talk about the reorganization of Islam. How did you have the courage? Did we ever talk about the reorganization of Judaism and Christianity?”
The Turkish president also expressed concern over the silence of European countries over Macron’s anti-Islamic and anti-hijab statements and demanded that the international community take note of such statements and interrogate the person concerned.
