Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the people and government of Pakistan want peace in Afghanistan. The purpose of the visit is to assure that Pakistan will do its utmost for peace.
In a joint press conference with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Kabul was a favorite place in the region in the 50’s and 60’s, but unfortunately the violence in Afghanistan increased.

On the occasion, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan was essential for regional development and there should be a distinction between positive and negative attitudes towards freedom of expression.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has visited Afghanistan for the first time since holding the office of Prime Minister. On his arrival in Kabul, he was received at the airport by Afghan Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar.
