ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Roshan Digital Account today.
This important step of the government will provide modern online banking facilities to millions of Pakistanis abroad and they will not have to go to a bank branch, embassy or consulate to open an account.
With Roshan Digital Accounts, overseas Pakistanis will be able to transfer funds, pay their bills and make investments. Under this facility, Pakistanis abroad will be able to open digital online accounts.
Basic documents will be required to open a roshan digital account. It will only take 48 hours to complete all the documentation. The user can choose an account in foreign currency or Pakistani rupee or both.
The introduction of Roshan Digital Account by the State Bank of Pakistan in association with commercial banks operating in the country is a major step for Pakistanis abroad.
Funds will be fully transferred back to these accounts and will not require any regulatory approval. Roshan Digital Accounts provides state-of-the-art banking facilities to millions of non-resident Pakistanis in terms of fund transfers, bill payment and investment activities in Pakistan.
