PM Imran Khan raised Islamophobia issue in 20th SCO summit

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that joint efforts are needed at the global level to deal with Corona. Addressing a meeting of the 20th SCO Summit in Russia via video link, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the world economy was slowing down and the international community needed to do more for the weaker sections.

The Prime Minister said that the exchange of information between the SCO countries is of utmost importance for mitigating the risks of coronavirus, short, medium in a framework in consultation with the World Health Organization to mitigate the adverse effects of the epidemic. And long-term policies should be developed.

He said that the SCO should emphasize mutual respect of all religions, adding that the world was in dire need of inter-religious harmony and insulting any religion under the guise of freedom of expression was intolerable.

He also called for debt relief for the poor countries and said that we welcome the efforts of G20 countries and financial partners to create financial resources to deal with the effects of the Coronavirus.
