Pilgrims begins down-sized Hajj Today following Covid-19 hygiene protocols

ISLAMABAD: While a limited number of pilgrims have been allowed to perform Hajj Baitullah due to the Corona epidemic, a number of measures regarding the pillars of Hajj are becoming part of history.

According to the decision of the Saudi government, for the first time in Islamic history, arrangements have been made to enter Mecca with the intention of Hajj from a single meeqat.

This meeqat is located in Al-Sail Al-Kabeer area near Taif and the name of this meeqat is Qarn Al-Manazil.

According to the report, meeqat is a term which means the limit from which the pilgrims have to go through the state of ihram with the intention of Hajj or Umrah.

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) had set four meeqaats for those coming from different parts of the world to perform Hajj and ‘Umrah.

For the first time in history, pilgrims will have to go through only one meeqat this year.

Regarding the fifth meeqaat, it is explained in some places that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) also prescribed the fifth meeqaat.

These five hududs or meeqats represent the state of Hajj or Umrah from different directions for the journey to Mecca.
