Even before the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) meeting in Multan, Punjab, the political heat has intensified. When the PDM was not allowed to hold a rally in Multan, PPP and PML-N workers broke all barriers and entered the Qasim Bagh Stadium before the rally.
Opposition activists have set up camp on the ground, but now the administration has reacted and registered cases against the opposition. Police break locks and gates in the stadium, protesters and police booked Blacksmith Gate to intervene in government.
The case was registered against 70 nominees and more than 300 unidentified persons in the complaint of the Station House Officer (SHO) of Lohari Gate police station.
On the other hand, Multan Assistant Commissioner Abida Farid along with the police also cracked down on those who provided catering equipment for the rally and sealed several warehouses and registered cases.
It may be recalled that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is in isolation due to Corona while Bilawal’s sister Asifa Bhutto Zardari including the top leadership of PDM will attend the meeting.
