Pakistan’s Foreign debt increases by 7 billion dollars in one year

Karachi: Pakistan’s foreign debt has increased by 7  billion dollars in one year.

According to the SBP, the volume of foreign debt as on June 30, 2019 was 106 billion dollars, which increased to 113 billion dollars by June 30, 2020, an increase of 7 billion dollars in one year.

According to the central bank, foreign debt was 96 billion dollars in September 2018 and the current government borrowed  17 billion dollars in new foreign debt.

According to the SBP, the current government has borrowed  1.7 billion dollars from the IMF,  1.2 billion dollars from commercial banks and 3.1 billion dollars from various countries.
