Pakistan elected a member of UN Human Rights council with majority votes

Pakistan has achieved another significant diplomatic success and was elected by a landslide to become a member of the UN Human Rights Council for the next three years.

Pakistan won a record number of votes in the UN Human Rights Council elections and Pakistan managed to get 169 out of 193 votes. Pakistan won the most votes in the Asia-Pacific region.

In this regard, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan getting a large number of votes is an expression of confidence in Pakistan’s policies at the international level.

He said that Pakistan has always raised its voice for the protection of human rights in international forums. The Human Rights Council is a very important forum of the United Nations.
