Muttiah Muralitharan Heaps Big Praise on Babar Azam


Muralitharan Babar Azam One of the greatest cricketers of all time and former Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has heaped big praise on Pakistan’s Babar Azam.

In a recent interaction with former Indian cricketer – Akash Chopra – on ESPNCricinfo, he was asked to name the current players who could have played him well. The former off-spinner named both the captains of India and Pakistan.

“Kohli would have been tough as he is a good player of spin. Babar Azam, I’ve never seen but looks like one of the better players because he is from the subcontinent,” Murali said.

Muralitharan is considered as one of the greatest cricketers of all time. He is the leading wicket taker in international cricket with 800 test wickets and 530+ ODI wickets..

The stylish right handed batsman has cemented his place as one of the best batsmen in international cricket. Babar Azam is equally good against both spin and pace.

His batting average across the three formats of the game speaks for itself. He has an average of 51.7 in tests, 87.3 in ODIs, and 73.6 in T20I cricket.

His batting average against right arm off spin is 66.3 in Tests, 67.1 in ODIs, and 165.0 in T20 cricket.
