Mukhtara Mai’s Girls Model School in Muzaffargarh was closed due to lack of funds.
More than 600 female students were deprived of education due to the closure of the school.
According to Mukhtara mai, it is not possible to run the school due to lack of funds. Four months ago, the school was renamed as Education Department, but so far the Education Department has not been able to allocate budget for teachers’ salaries and other expenses.
Muzaffargarh CEO Education Syed Kausar Hussain Shah confirmed that the school has been renamed as Education Department, with an estimate of more than Rs 2 crore for teachers’ salaries and other expenses.
According to Syed Kausar Hussain Shah, a summary was sent to the department two months ago for the approval of the budget. After the approval of the budget, the school will be reopened.
