The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime officials said that according to the preliminary investigation, a group committed online fraud with the company, it appears that the software of the home appliance company was hacked.
According to officials, the fraud involved buying home appliances by the group, buying home appliances with fake cards or fake receipts, and confirming that the company’s software had been hacked and paid for.
According to officials, after verification, the expensive appliances were delivered to the address mentioned by the home appliances company. However, when the company’s accounts were checked, the money was never transferred, after which the company lodged a complaint with the FIA.
Officials say inquiries are underway in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, but no suspects have been arrested so far.
