Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth passed away due to illness. A Peshawar High Court spokesman confirmed the death of Justice Waqar Ahmed and said that Chief Justice was suffering from the corona disease.
Chief Justice Peshawar High Court had been in critical condition for several days and was undergoing treatment at Kulsoom International Hospital, Islamabad.
Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Waqar Ahmed Seth is one of the judges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who gave decisions in very important cases and lawyers considered these decisions as ‘bold’.
Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth belonged to a middle-class business family in Dera Ismail Khan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He received his education from educational institutions in Peshawar. He graduated from Islamia College and obtained a law degree from Law College Peshawar University and then a Masters in Political Science. After graduating, he began practicing law in 1985.
Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth became a High Court lawyer in 1990 and then a Supreme Court lawyer in 2008. He was appointed Additional Sessions Judge in 2011 and has since served in various courts, including the Banking Courts. Waqar Ahmed Seth was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court in 2018.
In the unconstitutional case, he had sentenced former President Pervez Musharraf to death while he quashed the decision to raise the retirement age to 63. The KP government had raised the retirement age of government employees from 60 to 63 years.
