Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman is out of the tour of New Zealand.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Fakhar Zaman showed symptoms of fever on Sunday. Despite several check-ups by the team doctor, Fakhar Zaman’s fever did not go down after which the team management made this decision. ۔
The board says Fakhar Zaman will not leave for New Zealand with the national squad on the morning of November 23 due to the health and safety of other players and sports staff in the squad.
Officials said that Fakhar Zaman has been completely isolated after showing signs of fever and the PCB’s medical panel is in constant touch with Fakhar Zaman in this regard and will be in touch with him till his full recovery.
The team management has decided not to replace Fakhar Zaman.
Dr. Sohail Saleem, a team doctor and head of the PCB Medical Panel, who was part of the national squad for the tour of New Zealand, said that the report of the corona test for Fakhar Zaman on November 21 along with other members of the squad was also negative. On November 22, they showed signs of high fever.
“As soon as Fakhr-e-Zaman showed signs of fever, he was immediately isolated from the rest of the squad. We are in constant touch with Fakhar Zaman but we cannot compromise on the health and safety of other members of the squad,” he said.
The national squad will leave Lahore for New Zealand on November 23 at 3 am.
