DG ISPR salutes the bravery of Nishan e Haider holder Naik Saif Ali Janjua

On the day of martyrdom of Naik Saif Ali Janjua, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the sacrifice of Naik Saif Janjua would continue to remind him of his commitment to Kashmir.

According to details, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar in his message on the day of martyrdom of social networking site Twitter Naik Saif Ali Janjua said that the bravery of Naik Saif Janjua Nishan Haider will always be remembered. The sacrifice of Naik Saif Ali will continue to remind the commitment to Kashmir’s cause.

The DG ISPR said that the nation will always remember the sacrifice of Shaheed Naik Saif Ali. Naik Saif Ali Janjua sacrificed his life for the glory of the Holy Land.

Today is the day of martyrdom of Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed, the great son of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who narrated the great eternal story of courage and bravery.

Naik Saif Ali Janjua was born on April 25, 1922, in a village in Nikail Tehsil, Kotli District, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir. He joined the Royal Corps of the British Indian Army at the age of 18. He also served on the foreign front for four years during World War II.

After the war, his units were stationed in Jalandhar and Lahore. After the formation of Pakistan, he returned to his hometown and joined the Haideri Force of Sardar Fateh Muhammad Karilvi, who later became part of the Azad Kashmir Regiment. Due to Saif Ali Janjua’s leadership ability, he was promoted to the rank of Naik.

After which he was made a platoon commander and ordered to stop the enemy’s attack on the Mandher sector at Pir Kaliwa, where he fought valiantly against the entire brigade of the Indian Army and told an eternal story of courage and bravery.

His platoon repulsed four attacks of the Indian Brigade with available firepower and a small contingent. Naik Saif Ali Janjua was martyred on October 26, 1948, narrating the great story of bravery and valor for the sanctity of the homeland.

On March 14, 1949, the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir awarded Naik Saif Ali Janjua the highest military award of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, “Hilal Kashmir”, which is equivalent to Nishan e Haider. The Government of Pakistan also issued a commemorative ticket on April 30, 2013, in memory of his eternal sacrifice.
