Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that if precautions are taken on Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram, the number of Corona cases will increase.
In his address to the nation, the Prime Minister said that the pressure on hospitals has eased and the lowest number of deaths were reported from Corona in the last three months. There are still challenges to be taken.
He said that our situation is also different from China. The strategy in Pakistan was completely different from Europe and China. We were the first government to talk about smart lockdown but it is very difficult to implement lockdown in slums.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is one of the few countries where corona epidemic is being controlled. By the grace of God, the number of corona cases in Pakistan has decreased and the world today believes that complete lockdown is impossible.
“We imposed smart lockdown, did not ban agriculture so as not to cut off food supply and opened a construction department to provide jobs to the workers,” he added.
“Opening the construction department was criticized as it would increase the death toll, but we took the risk and decided to save people from starvation,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that the world is still understanding the Corona virus, the vaccine has not come yet, if care is not taken on Eid, the cases here may go up again and then lockdown may have to be imposed which will affect the economy.
The Prime Minister suggested that citizens make sacrifices online instead of going to the animal markets.
It may be recalled that 5842 people have died due to corona in the country so far while the number of infected patients is more than 274,000.
