A terrorist attack on the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station on Burki Road in Lahore was foiled.

According to CTD officials, the terrorist tried to enter the CTD police station on Burki Road and opened fire at the same time.

CTD officials said that the terrorist entered the police station and opened fire, but security personnel returned fire and killed the terrorist on the spot.

Police officials said that two hand grenades, a suicide jacket and a pistol were also recovered from the possession of the slain terrorist.

Lahore CCPO Omar Sheikh said that security has been tightened on the entrances and exits of the city.

He said that suspicious persons and unclaimed items should be closely monitored and citizens should immediately report suspicious activities and persons to rescue 15.
